Bandon IDA Laragh WWTP Upgrade

The Bandon IDA Laragh WWTP Upgrade Works involved the decommissioning of the existing treatment plant, construction of a pump station and construction of a rising main. The Upgrade Works comprised 2 No. contracts: the Civil Works Contract, consisting of site investigation and construction of the rising main, and the MEICA Works Contract, consisting of construction of a pump station and decommissioning of the existing treatment plant.

The Civil Works Contract comprises 2No. phases, and works involved a site investigation works and construction of the rising main.

 

Phase 1 of the works involved an intrusive site investigation works associated with the proposed works under the Bandon IDA Laragh WWTP Upgrade Works.

The intrusive site investigation works involved the following:

  • 10No. Slit Trenches.
  • 8No. Trial Pits.

Phase 2 of the works involved the construction and testing of a 2825m long 125mm OD HDPE PE100 SDR17 rising main from the existing wastewater treatment plant site to a new header manhole which connects to an existing manhole on the Bandon Town Network, through the Bandon IDA Industrial Estate and along the R586 road.
