ROSCOMMON UV UPGRADE

Glan Agua have recently completed the upgrade of the UV disinfection systems in 5 WTP?s which form part of the Roscommon DBO Bundle operated by Glan Agua.
The project involved the replacement of the existing non-validated UV units with validated UV Disinfection systems.
Glan Agua based their UV selection following a review of the water quality data over a 10 year period with the Wedeco Spektron 250e and Wedeco LBX90 chosen as the most suitable solutions
The reactors are USEPA UVDGM validated to achieve a 3 log reduction for Cryptosporidium and are validated to 70% UVT which ensures a robust disinfection treatment step.
Realtech UVT Monitors were also installed and work in conjunction with the UV reactors in order to calculate the validated UV dose (Note: Glan Agua are the Irish distributors for Realtech equipment in Ireland).
The project provides another major safeguard to the drinking water supply to a large cohort of customers in County Roscommon.
