The Swiss Cottage Bridge is of national heritage importance and was therefore a sensitive project to work on.
The Contract involved the repair and painting of the Swiss Cottage Bridge. The total span of the bridge is 37.5 m long between buttresses and 3.95 wide between arches. Scope of works included:
Temporary Specialist Scaffolding over River
Removal of the existing composite steel / concrete deck.
Removal of 9no cross tie channels (305 x 89 x 41.69)
Installation of 9no 250 x 250 x 10 SHS and pre-cast slabs covered with an in-situ screed.
Existing bearings underpinned and replaced with 6no elastomeric bearings per end bearing.
Shotblasting the entire bridge
Repainting the entire bridge
