M7 Snagging and Maintenance Contract

The M7 Snagging and Maintenance project involved a full review of the M7 motorway with regard to resolving defects in the existing infrastructure. The works included a review of the project drainage, CCTV surveying, preparing survey reports and carrying out remedial works which ranged from in situ lining repair to full open cut of defective pipe work. All structures were reviewed and defects were corrected including, surfacing, ducting and joints to structures. The attenuation system on the project involved over 30 geolined ponds with associated penstocks and fencing . Again these were surveyed and serviced for functionality and safety concerns. The project also involved considerable liason with landowners affected by the works, and completion of outstanding accomodation works for same.

The most important aspect of allowing these works to proceed effectively and safely was the set up of appropriate traffic management while working on the live motorway.

 

MEIC Ltd were responsible for the traffic management design and implementation, and all works were completed by fully trained and competent staff. In addition, there was also considerable works which involved dealing with environmental mitigation measures for mammals and fish in accordance with the recommendations of the Environmental Impact Statement prepared for the project.
