Great Southern Trail – Barnagh Hill Cycleway/Walkway

The project entailed the construction of a paved cycleway through an abandoned railway line. The project also involved the construction of ancillary fencing, environmental bunding, timber edging, drainage, traffic management interface with vehicular and pedestrian traffic, liaising with statutory authorities for the diversion of services. In Addition, MEIC Constructed a portion of the cycleway underneath an existing river bridge which involved difficult earthworks and underpinning of the bridge structure as well as the construction of a reinforced concrete section of the cycleway and associated hand railing between that and the river.
