MEIC Ltd has successfully completed the upgrade and realignment of 2.3km of the Ballyluskey to Congar Road in North Tipperary County Council.? The Contract consisted of the upgrading and realignment of 2.2km of the N52 road between Ardcroney and Borrisokane on behalf of North Tipperary County Council. The works commenced in August 2012 and was completed in February 2013. MEIC Ltd acted as the Main Civil Contractor and PSCS for the project.

The Works consisted of the following:

• The construction of a new Type S2 standard single carriageway.
• The realignment is approximately 50% online and 50% offline and includes four locations where the new route crosses the existing road.
• New precast concrete cattle underpass
• Extensive accommodation works

The project presented a number of constraints including the design and implementation of complex traffic management and the management of the environmental impact of the project due to the sensitive habitats and legally protected species along the route.
