The Improvement Works Scheme comprised of the overlay of approximately 0.9km of the exisitng N24 to comply with Type 2 Single Carriageway cross-section, widening of approximately 400m of the south side of the existing N24 to facilitate the introduction of one at grade right-turn ghost island junction and a layby, the realignment of the existing L-6606 Arrigan’s Boreen sideroad and the following associated works:

• Supply and installation of regulatory and warning signage
• Installation of road markings and road studs
• Construction of landscape works
• Construction of road pavements
• Construction of accommodation works
• Construction of scheme earthworks
• Construction of surface water drainage infrastructure
• Construction of utility diversions and protection of existing utilities
• Construction of boundary treatment works
• Construction of safety barriers
