The works carried out under this contract included the decommissioning and removal of 2 No. existing railbridges and 1 No. existing pedestrian bridge that span the Silver River at Ferbane, County Offaly.

Project Details

  • Removal of fencing, bushes and other site clearance in the vicinity of the works areas.
  • Decommissioning and removal of 2 No. existing rail bridges and all associated components, inclusive of bridge deck, handrails, and piers and foundations.
  • Railbridge 1 – 18.3m span, 6.2m width, 4 No. concrete piers within watercourse. (Maximum beam length 8m)
  • Railbridge 2  20.6m span, 6.2m width, 4 No. concrete piers within watercourse. (Maximum beam length 8m)
  • Decommissioning and removal of 1 No. existing pedestrian bridge and all associated components, inclusive of bridge deck, handrails, attached ducting, and piers and foundations.
  • Pedestrian Bridge  20.6m span, 2 No. 610 x 305 UB. (Maximum beam length  20.6m)
  • Making good and reinstatement of fencing, embankments and river bed following removal of the bridges.
