HSQE Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Continuous promotion of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) standards on projects;
  • HSQE Project and documentation support including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans;
  • Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards;
  • Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors
  • Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents for future work;
  • Carrying out Site Inspections and generating reports; Liaising with Clients;

Civils Estimator

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and track tender opportunities and leads
  • Liaising with the bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from design, estimating and project delivery teams
  • Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all elements are included in the final price to the customer

Senior QS

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the Contracts Manager and reporting to the Contracts Director
  • Representing the Company’s interest at meetings held relating to the work under their control
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost plans
  • Manage, administer and co-ordinate all types of construction projects, including contracts and sub-contracts, construction progress schedules, cost control systems, and work measurements

Project Manager

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for overall management of the project(s) from detailed design to handover;
  • Manage subcontractors on site;
  • Prepare and manage programs using MS Project and Primavera;
  • Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports;
  • Produce look ahead programs to assist production;
  • Ensuring that quality throughout project delivery is maintained and meets the business policy;

Graduate O&M Engineer

MEIC and Glan Agua are seeking a Graduate O&M Engineer

Contract Allocation and O&M Engineer Responsibilities
Each Engineer has been assigned ownership of certain bundled or contracted WTP’s or WwTP’s. It is the Engineers responsibility to ensure the quality and quantity of any treated water produced or final effluent treated is within specification, and that each of the assigned sites, their contents and individual process’ are maintained as required. The Engineer is the first point of contact for the WTP/WwTP Plant Operator in terms of any site process/assets/consumables/spares issues. Also, the Engineer has to ensure that all site HSQE measures inc SOP’s/SOPP’s are being adhered to, as well as monitoring of Energy usage and implementation of energy efficient measures.
All O&M Engineers should work in conjunction with each other and may be required to undertake duties at various WTP’s / WwTP’s both within and outside of assigned bundles/contracts. It is the Engineers responsibility to ensure that their dedicated bundles/contracts are covered by the O&M team members while on scheduled/unscheduled leave or days off duty.

 

Normal Duties – Working Hours
• SCADA maintenance, checks and reporting observed issues to the Plant Operators & O&M Manager
• Client Monthly Status Reports – Refer to SOP-19-067-G How to Complete Monthly Status Reports (Client Group Water Scheme GWS) and SOP-19-068-G How to Complete Monthly Status Reports (Client Irish Water.
• Client Quarterly Payment Applications – Refer to SOP-19-064-G How to Complete a NFGWS Payment
Application.
• Quarterly reporting and attending Client LMC meetings
• Ownership and maintenance of the contract SharePoint O&M Site, Microsoft Teams & Glan Agua shared drive folders where applicable.
• Assist Plant Operators with the WTP/WwTP Maintenance Planning and execution, including scheduling specialist trades as required.
• Procurement of site consumables/spares within contract budgets
• Scheduling/Implementation of HSQE/Process/Energy site audits
• Documenting/Scheduling/Implementation of specific tasks/projects with Plant Operators and Specialist
Contractors.

 

• Any equipment or process faults that cannot be rectified within the O&M team, must be reported and
addressed with the members of the Process, Commissioning, Mechanical and/or Electrical teams.
• Design and maintain the contract on call Rota.
• Deliver the CRF (Capital Replacement Fund) projects when & where applicable.
• Contract Energy usage and improvement projects are to be managed and implemented while coordinating with the Energy team.
• All major issues are to be communicated to the assigned O&M Manager via email.
• Emergency escalations are to be communicated by phone.
Emergency Duties – Outside of Working Hours
While it is the Plant Operators responsibility to monitor the WTP/WwTP’s outside of normal working hours, there may be occasions where the Engineers site assistance is required to ensure operation of the WTP/WwTP’s are maintained at the standard required.

MEIC and Glan Agua are seeking experienced water and waste water project engineers to work within our Project teams for design and construction of water and wastewater installations throughout Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years specific and relevant experience in the design, construction, installation and/or commissioning of water and wastewater facilities. The candidate must be degree qualified in the fields of civil or mechanical engineering.

Key requirements;

  • Support the Project Manager
  • Have working knowledge of AutoCAD and capable of drawings for construction and to coordinate between contractors to ensure services fit.
  • Prepare as-built drawings for inclusion in the Operations & Maintenance manual.
  • Source suppliers, obtain quotes and submit successful suppliers for engineering approval.
  • Monitor and expedite equipment deliveries.
  • Prepare & keep up to date the delivery schedule to control deliveries

CAD/BIM Technician

MEIC and Glan Agua are looking to recruit a CAD/BIM Technician.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of 2D general arrangement drawings from 3D Revit Models & CAD 2D drawings
  • Preparation of GA co-ordination drawings in multi-discipline fields including civil, structural, mechanical and electrical
  • Ensure models / documentation is developed in line with company BIM protocols and procedures

Assistant Estimator

MEIC and Glan Agua are looking to recruit an Assistant Administrator.

Assistant Estimator required for Leading Water and Waste Water DBO Contractor. Particular experience in estimating software such as CCS and Programming software P6 Primavera and Microsoft Project would be advantageous to any successful candidate, however training will be provided as necessary. Ideally the successful candidate should have experience in the  Design and Build of Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants and associated water infrastructure. Our many clients in the Water Sector are located in Ireland and the UK, and experience of the specifications of various municipal water bodies would be beneficial to a successful application. As the successful candidate will have to work in a multidisciplinary team, the proven ability to work in a team environment to deliver successful bids will be a key requirement of any successful candidate. The role is expected to be primarily located in our Head Office, however subject to line Manager approval and the particular needs of the successful candidate, some flexibility in this regard may be possible

Electrical Design Engineer

MEIC and Glan Agua are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to work on projects located in Ireland.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of electrical detailed design submissions
  • Working with design teams in the production of design and construction drawings/ documentation
  • Liaising between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers
  • Preparation and application of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits and other Health and Safety Documentation

As a Mechanical Project Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Project or Projects assigned to you from a budget, programme & Safety prospective from concept through to handover, while understanding and agree the clients project requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering all aspects of the project from planning through implementation to final account stage
  • Supervising the work of Junior Project Managers, Project Engineers and Foremen
  • Management of EHS on site

Treatment Plant Operator

The Treatment Plant Operator duties in this position are outlined below, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitor and control the operation of the plant and treatment process so as to ensure that clean, safe drinking water is produced and to ensure that the plant is operated in an optimal manner in accordance with best practice.
  • Carrying out all duties as per training received both internal and external
  • Promoting Health & Safety culture within the company by utilising all PPE provided and ensuring visitors to site are in suitable PPE
  • Carrying out best hygiene practices at all times

 

  • Calibration of monitoring equipment and dosing pumps
  • Preventative and general maintenance of equipment as per Operations and Maintenance Manuals

 

  • Routine inspections and cleaning of all source screens
  • Routine inspections and cleaning of Raw Water holding tanks

 

  • Handling of chemicals and accept and supervise chemical deliveries by third-parties
  • Ordering of required chemicals, done through head office
  • Adjusting chemical dosing to optimise treatment process
  • Performing jar testing and daily checks of water quality parameters with equipment provided
  • Perform water sampling for third-party laboratory analysis

 

  • General house-keeping cleaning duties
  • Cutting/spraying and landscaping requirements as necessary
  • Operation of sludge management infrastructure as required

 

  • Recording all on-site data, manually and electronically
  • Reporting to management by phone and email
  • Liaise and interact with the Plant Manager and other operators, as well as other contractors from electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Undertake duties of a general nature that may be required by your manager.

 

  • Remote monitoring of WTP on SCADA system and take corrective actions as required
  • Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same
  • The Plant Operator shall be required to work shifts throughout these times and can expect to be a lone-worker for more than 70% of the time and accordingly will be required to exercise good judgment and initiative
  • An electrical or mechanical fitter background is desirable.

We are currently recruiting for a Pre-contract Manager / Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our Process & Water team, working on projects in Ireland and the UK, based at our office in Galway.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the estimating & bid process for all tenders
  • Managing and supporting the teams on each of your projects
  • Working closely with the commercial team, designers, planners and site teams
  • Supply Chain liaison & management through tender and post-tender stage
  • Client interface; attending regular tender / post-tender meetings with clients
  • Taking responsibility for programmes

Due to the complexity of projects that we work on, it is desirable that applicants have a background of estimating/bid management/MEICA design, as well as working on clean or wastewater projects. It is likely that you are currently working as a Pre-contract Manager / Senior Mechanical Estimator (preferably in the water sector) or similar role. You will have an excellent technical ability in M&E and you will have a strong background in preconstruction management.

Requirements:

  • Level 8 Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent or by experience
  • A background of delivering projects to budget and programme
  • Experience of analysing, compiling and managing tender submissions through to submission
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and development of construction programmes (P6 also an advantage)
  • Water experience preferred (clean water or wastewater)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with estimating software (CCS, ConQuest, Cubit or similar)
  • Organised and structured in your approach

Design Manager

MEIC and Glan Agua are seeking Experienced Design Manager to join our growing water and wastewater business. As a Design Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Project or Projects assigned to you from a budget, programme & Safety prospective from concept through to handover, while understanding and agree the clients project requirements.

The role:

· Agreeing levels of resource against the programme

· Track and monitor design outputs against design deliverables and project programme

· Track and monitor design expenditure against cost allowance

· Produce monthly progress reports

· Review and collate documents & drawings for both internal governance and client acceptance through the gateway processes

· Identification of requirements for design of temporary works

· Monitor and Track change control

· Site Visits as required

Responsibilities:

· Agreeing levels of resource against the programme

· Ensuring production of all documentation required to manage the project in line with CDM requirements

· Compilation of Weekly / monthly reports as dictated by the project

· Monitoring of design outputs against the design deliverable schedule including remedial cause of action as required.

· Confirming that all regularity standards are adhered to

· Technical governance and sign off is adhered to

· Chair Design meetings

· Contribute to the production of the design cost for individual schemes

· Coordinate the design engineers across all disciplines

· Ensure that Principal Designer duties are administered and discharged in line with CDM 2015

· Develop and update the Design Management Plan.

· Producing design briefs, incorporating the requirements of all the project needs, including Mechanical, Electrical and Civil interface

· Producing and reviewing sub-contractor enquiry documents to enable all design to be incorporated

· Ensure all disciplines design are incorporated into the 3D model

· Report and gain approval for change

 

 

Experience/Qualifications Needed:

· Principle Designer Status
