Mechanical Engineer

MEIC and Glan Agua are a progressive organisation in water and wastewater services and are looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to work on projects nationally and internationally. Due to continued success in our business, the company is expanding with a number of dynamic and exciting roles.

The role will require the successful candidate to work as part of a team and also to carry out tasks on an individual basis.

The Role

  • To support the engineering requirements through managing & Liaising with Key Project Stakeholders (Client design team, Main contractor, Suppliers, Sub-contractors, etc).
  • Familiarisation of Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project works.
  • Overseeing the Co-ordination process to transform design information into full installation drawings by BIM personnel ensuring spec compliance and as per schedule priority.
  • Familiarisation with the Project schedule and ensuring engineering activities do not impact on same
  • Management of the technical submittals, approvals
  • Ensure works are installed in accordance with project specifications and to the Project QA plan (for e.g. pre-agreed benchmarking).
  • Liaising with sub-contractors and ensuring adequate information flow to ensure works progress in line with the project schedule
  • Attending weekly meetings
  • Evaluate and promote the use of new engineering practices and processes to enhance delivery time of the project.
  • Preparation and agreeing project completion criteria and close out documents.
  • Preparing sub-contract and supplier tender packages in conjunction with Project QS.
  • Manage the work packs process from development, implementation and handover
  • Manage BIM priorities i.e. isometrics generation and release.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience working with a recognised Mechanical/Electrical contractor

Project Engineer - Gorey

MEIC and Glan Agua are seeking experienced water and waste water project engineers to work within our Project teams for design and construction of water and wastewater installations throughout Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years specific and relevant experience in the design, construction, installation and/or commissioning of water and wastewater facilities. The candidate must be degree qualified in the fields of civil or mechanical engineering.

Key requirements;

  • Support the Project Manager
  • Have working knowledge of AutoCAD and capable of drawings for construction and to coordinate between contractors to ensure services fit.
  • Prepare as-built drawings for inclusion in the Operations & Maintenance manual.
  • Source suppliers, obtain quotes and submit successful suppliers for engineering approval.
  • Monitor and expedite equipment deliveries.
  • Prepare & keep up to date the delivery schedule to control deliveries
  • Manage sub-contractors including the commissioning contractor

Main Responsibilities

MEIC and Glan Agua are looking to recruit a Senior Administrator.

Senior Estimator required for Leading Water and Waste Water DBO Contractor, with particular experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation in the Design and Build of Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants. Our many clients in the Water Sector are located in Ireland and the UK, and experience of the specifications of various municipal water bodies would be beneficial to a successful application. As the successful candidate will have to work in a multidisciplinary team, the proven ability to work with and manage teams of people to deliver successful bids will be a key requirement of any successful candidate. The role is expected to be primarily located in our Head Office, however subject to line Manager approval and the particular needs of the successful candidate, some flexibility in this regard may be possible. Assistant Estimator

MEIC and Glan Agua are looking to recruit an Assistant Administrator.

Assistant Estimator required for Leading Water and Waste Water DBO Contractor. Particular experience in estimating software such as CCS and Programming software P6 Primavera and Microsoft Project would be advantageous to any successful candidate, however training will be provided as necessary. Ideally the successful candidate should have experience in the  Design and Build of Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants and associated water infrastructure. MEIC and Glan Agua are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to work on projects located in Ireland.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of electrical detailed design submissions
  • Working with design teams in the production of design and construction drawings/ documentation
  • Liaising between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers
  • Preparation and application of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits and other Health and Safety Documentation

  • Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents to secure future work

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of detailed process and mechanical design submissions across both the water and wastewater sectors
  • Working with design teams in the production of design and construction drawings/ documentation
  • Liaising between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers
  • Key responsibilities will include developing process and Hydraulic calculations, process flow diagrams (PFD), mass / energy balance, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), Motor and Equipment list (M&I), Layout and mechanical design, Hydraulic profile, process descriptions and equipment specifications

Commissioning Engineer UK

MEIC and Glan Agua are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our growing water and wastewater business in the UK.

Duties will include:

  • Completion of preliminary documentation and equipment checks.
  • Initial power-up of MCC’s, rotation checks for motors and I/O point to point checks.
  • Setting up of instrumentation and scaling of instruments back to main control system.
  • Uploading of first draft of PLC/HMI code and de-bugging as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting of equipment, instrumentation and processes.
  • Working with Process Engineers on process optimisation and continuous improvement to the water/waste water treatment plant.
  • Working with design teams in the application of process and control solutions.

As a Design Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Design Manager to coordinate the design outputs within a multi-discipline team across the Project or Projects assigned to you from resourcing, technical and timely prospective ensuring compliance with company procedures and Client specification
