Building Project Manager

As Buildings Project Manager, you will be working closely and leading the Team and have the ultimate responsibility for the successful delivery.

The Project Manager should be degree qualified with a minimum of 10 years’ with experience at senior project management level. The Project Manger must have a strong commercial awareness and the ability to deal with the whole financial and programme planning elements of the project.

Principle Duties & Accountabilities;
• Have Experience of Design and Build Works and PWC conditions of contract
• Follow and make management decisions pertaining to project issues with minimal supervision throughout the life of the project.
• Possess strong Commercial awareness and Cost Control ability with a proven track record in the area of construction planning.
• Must be technically competent with the ability to set and track project milestones and deliverables.
• Complete the function of liaison between the contractor and client/specialists/resources
• Train, instruct and direct the project staff with respect to construction, contractual, and regulatory requirements with responsibility for the project works.
• Manage day to day operational duties.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, analyse results and troubleshoot
• Provide feedback and record information from the project for ‘lessons learnt seminars’ and for continuous staff development.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications;
• An Engineering / Construction Management / Project Management Degree required or where appropriate relevant experience.
• Minimum 10 years residential / commercial / mixed development construction experience, preferably in a Main Contractor entity.
• Thorough knowledge of computer and database applications such as Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project etc
• Thorough understanding of the construction industry and broad regulatory requirements.
• Excellent ability to analyse and interpret contractual documents.
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment

Site / Project Engineer


MEIC Ltd are seeking experienced Project Engineers to work within our project teams for the construction of infrastructure projects in the North Dublin Region.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Roads/Motorway Civil Engineering works, be degree qualified in the field of civil engineering, and demonstrate ability. Experience in Earthworks and drainage a distinct advantage. The role will require you to work as part of a team and to use your initiative. The majority of the work assignments will be based on project delivery with strong emphasis on ability to manage Quality control and reporting.

Main responsibilities/duties will include (but not limited to):
• Supporting the Project Manager on delivery of a road project in Donabate Co. Dublin. 
• Supervision and execution of works in line with specification.
• Management of Subcontracts and Junior staff
• Managing Site Surveying and Data capture.
• Procurement of goods and services.
• Monitor progress against the programme.
• Review/Prepare method statements and risk assessments
• Quality Control
• Management of Environmental, Health and Safety issues
• Document control, recording & transmitting information & drawings
• Preparation of construction records and as-built drawings
• Attending Site Production Meetings.
• Liaising with Clients, Statutory Bodies and stakeholders

Graduate Civil Engineer

MEIC is seeking graduate engineers to join our civil engineering site team in the southern region.

The role will require graduate engineers to work as part of a team and also to carry out tasks individually. The majority of the work assignments will be based on-site for career progression and full understanding of the company’s works and for observation of: construction practises incl surveying and setting out, the implementation of health and safety on-site and use of the latest technology products/equipment.

Main duties will include (as applicable):

  • Assisting the Project Engineers with the Day to Day challenges on-site.
  • Assisting Project Engineers with Site Surveying and Mapping.
  • Attending Site Production Meetings.
  • Liaising with Clients, Statutory Bodies and 3rd Parties
  • Assisting the Project Engineers with the drafting of Method Statements
  • Carrying out take-offs, for the procurement of materials which are required for the project.
  • Completion of Health and Safety Inductions and Filing Records on site.
  • Assisting the Project Engineers with the Site Management of sub-contractors, suppliers, etc.

HSQE Advisor

Glan Agua Ltd / MEIC Ltd are seeking a suitably qualified HSQE Advisor to join our HSQE team.  This role will be based initially in the West / North West but will include travel nationwide. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Continuous promotion of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards on projects
• HSQE Project and documentation support including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans
• Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards
• Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors
• Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents for future work
• Carrying out Site Inspections and generating reports
• Liaising with Clients
• Assist the site team in the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and associated documentation and records
• Preparation and delivery of site tool box talks
• Daily/weekly reporting to the HSQE Manager and project management staff
• Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes
• Provide HSQE advice and direction to staff and contractors, liaising with Site Personnel
• Compilation of Safety Files and O&M Manuals

Qualifications / Experience:
• Hold a recognised HSQE qualification
• Minimum of 3 years HSQE experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent planning, organisational, training, teamwork, problem resolution and presentation skills
• Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Full, clean driving license
