Project Managers; Water and Waste Water Projects;

Due to our continued expansion, Glan Agua and MEIC are looking for Project Managers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have proven experience of working for a recognised Main Contractor with experience of the design and construction of Water / Waste Water projects, coupled with a degree level qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

The preferred candidate will have a proven track record of project delivery on large to medium sized water and waste water infrastructure projects in the municipal and/or industrial/pharmaceutical sectors. They will be expected to integrate the project team from design stage, through to construction, commissioning, and ultimately had over to operations and expected to liaise with the Client on a day-to-day basis and manage all aspects of the Contract(s).

Key capabilities are as follows;
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment plant design, construction and commissioning, with particular emphasis on mechanical and electrical elements.
• Knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contracts beneficial
• Min 5 years plus experience
• Ability to liaise with clients
• Contract awareness
• Commercial negotiations with key suppliers and sub-contractors, management of the supply chain on multiple projects
• Manage sub-contractors including the commissioning contractor
• Prepare and manage programs using MS project and Primavera.
• Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
• Produce look ahead programs to assist production.
• Prepare valuations for submittal to the client on a monthly basis.

The current project portfolio includes Contracts ≥ €10 million euros on a design, build, operate and maintain basis and are in various locations nationwide.

Quantity Surveyors (Job Reference No; GAM-002-12-2018)

Due to our ongoing expansion, Glan Agua and MEIC Ltd are currently seeking Quantity Surveyors.


The role will involve all aspects of surveying including:
• Liaising with the Contracts Manager and reporting to the Contracts Director.
• Representing the Company’s interest at meetings held relating to the work under their control.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost plans.
• Manage, administer and co-ordinate all types of construction projects, including contracts and sub-contracts, construction progress schedules, cost control systems, and work measurements.
• Monitoring works packages against budget, assessing variation claims and preparing reports for Client
• Submitting timely requests for payment, agreement of these with Client’s representative.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Client Representatives to support the activities and maintain positive relations on behalf of the client.
• Reviewing tender enquiries and tender analysis for projects.
• Organising and chairing pre-award meetings with new sub-contractors.
• Processing fortnightly / monthly sub-contractor payment certificates.
• Final account preparations at the end of the project.
• Maintaining good relations with clients and their representatives.
• Supporting staff to perform commercial/contractual duties as necessary.
• Ensure the company’s interest are fully protected by contractual compliance.
• Organise, in liaison with senior management, the preparation of contractual claims.
• Provide the Commercial Manager with sufficient information to enable the preparation of monthly and quarterly records of cash flow controls to be maintained.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying;
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with proven track record in dealing with Subcontractors and Clients in relation to Valuations, Variations, Final Accounts and cost reporting;
• Displays through understanding of specifications, bills of quantities, and drawings;
• Demonstrates excellent budgetary responsibility;
• Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at once;
• Self-starter and ability to organise the workday around assigned activities and priorities with minimum supervision.
• Must be highly flexible with a high-level commitment to success;
• Ability to work successfully as part of a team with wide variety of individuals demonstrating effective interpersonal skills;

Civil Design Engineer (Job Reference No. ME-0013-12-2018)

Due to our ongoing expansion, Glan Agua and MEIC are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our Design Team. Under the supervision of the Design Manager, the successful candidate will work on detailed designs of major water and wastewater infrastructure.

Key elements of the role are;
• Understand and adhere to companywide established procedures, training and mentoring from senior management shall be provided in this regard to allow a reasonable understanding of these procedures
• Identify design inputs and Client’s requirements.
• Ensure compliance with role as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP).
• Prepare detailed scope documents for external consultants and provide assistance to the Design Manager to procure the required external services.
• Aid in the preparation of a detailed schedule of dates including all deliverables and ensure “buy in” from all the key parties.
• Aid the Design Manger with the regular design meetings between all the relevant stakeholders.
• Preparation of the design submissions to the clients.
• Manage the design document control system to ensure that all parties are working with the latest information.
• Liaise with clients to answer all questions concerning the submitted designs.
• Formally close out all client issues prior to works commencing on site.
• Once works have commenced ensure that all design information is provided to both client and site teams in a timely manner to ensure compliance with both the clients and the site teams requirements.
• Record all changes with the design during the construction process.
• Manage the compilation of the as-built drawings and aid with the preparation of the safety file and O&M manuals.

Desired skills for the role:
• Degree in relevant discipline;
• Strong Problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Self-sustaining engineer with ability to effectively work as part of a team and on own initiative;
• Competent user of relevant design software packages, as well as Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry;

Site / Project Engineer (ME-009-12-2018)

MEIC Ltd are seeking experienced Project Engineers to work within our project teams for the construction of infrastructure projects in the North Dublin Region.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Roads/Motorway Civil Engineering works, be degree qualified in the field of civil engineering, and demonstrate ability. Experience in Earthworks and drainage a distinct advantage. The role will require you to work as part of a team and to use your initiative. The majority of the work assignments will be based on project delivery with strong emphasis on ability to manage Quality control and reporting.

Main responsibilities/duties will include (but not limited to):
• Supporting the Project Manager on delivery of a road project in Donabate Co. Dublin. 
• Supervision and execution of works in line with specification.
• Management of Subcontracts and Junior staff
• Managing Site Surveying and Data capture.
• Procurement of goods and services.
• Monitor progress against the programme.
• Review/Prepare method statements and risk assessments
• Quality Control
• Management of Environmental, Health and Safety issues
• Document control, recording & transmitting information & drawings
